International Retail Sales Manager

The International Retail Sales Manager role will focus on instilling best-in-class retail sales and retail marketing practices to build the LifeStraw® brand in Europe and Asia. This position will require strong knowledge and experience in consumer retail sales, distribution, and the active lifestyle segment, combined with excitement for a socially conscious brand.

The job location will be the Headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland and the position is reporting directly to the Head of Retail Sales - Water.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and drive retail LifeStraw sales in Europe and Asia through an established distribution network. Focus countries include Germany, Switzerland, France, UK, Scandinavia, India, China and Australia.
• Develop regional budgets and forecasts with regional P&L responsibility.
• Identify and track sales performance metrics; monitor sales growth and provide regular reports on sales progress towards sales goals by region/territory to Head of Retail Sales.
• Work collaboratively with Head of Retail Sales  to develop and manage annual sales operating budget; work closely with operations to establish clear reporting, forecasting, and planning tools.
• Identify and execute opportunities for functional process improvement.
• Drive and participate in activities including trade shows, sales meetings, and account planning sessions.
• Research and analyze trends, purchasing habits and the characteristics of consumers, their feedback on the Company’s and competitor products.
• Actively analyze the competitive landscape, consumer/retail feedback and adjust distribution strategy to meet changing consumer preferences.
• Liaise with customers, provide customer support and follow up.
• Stay up to date with knowledge on the company’s product and concept portfolio and be able to make this knowledge an asset in the sales situation.
• Ensure a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
• Create and maintain strong relationships with new and existing stakeholders (internal & external).
• Customer relationship management.
• Introduction of new products and concepts to the market.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor degree in business related field; MBA preferred.
• Experience in retail sales in Europe and China.
• Experience in analyzing and identifying retail potential in nominated European territories with minimum 3-5 years in international sales, business and brand development and/or key account management.
• Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken is essential. Additional language is a plus.
• Swiss or C / B / G Permit or European EC citizen.
• Willing to travel between 50 and 60 percent of the time.
